Series Beginning January 3rd.

“What you are shouts so loudly I cannot hear what you say.”

Or so said Ralph Waldo Emerson.  And James, the brother of Jesus, certainly seems to agree.

Nobody wants to listen if all we produce is noise.  The dissonance is unpleasant and off-putting— and that’s why they mute us.

So how do we cut through the clutter so that we are heard by those we want to reach?

We stop the noise.

How?  James says, “Do not merely listen to the word…do what it says.” [James 1:22]

And that’s where the music lives.  When harmonize what you know with how you live.  When you behave as you believe.  And when your faith is backed up by action.

Otherwise, don’t expect to be heard if all you make is noise.
