My friend's dad’s health continues to move in a positive direction, praise Jesus!! Joe's white blood cell count is now down to 40,000 (from 350,000). They feel really good about her dad’s new oncologist at Banner University-definitely another answer to prayer!

The new oncologist will be checking Joe's blood work twice a week to make sure both of his chemo pills are improving his blood counts but not affecting his liver and kidneys and to see if he’ll need another blood transfusion in between. Joe's next thoracentesis will be this today. Extra prayers are needed for his cough. It has started to keep him up most of the night over the past few nights. The Dr. isn't sure if this is due to needing the thoracentesis (the fluid drained from the pleura of his lungs).

As Joe's counts improve, the amount of thoracentesis he needs starts to decrease, and the swelling reduces in his feet/ankles.
